Playa Chant

Got back from the best Burning Man yet- really a wonderful time with such a warm, generous and enthusiastic atmosphere. Held numerous workshops including 3 Great Singing Buddha-Bowls, and they have helped me figure out where I want to take this organic, hypnotic, participation music thing next. Which is, of course, deeper, more evocative, more passionate, and more opening. It's a project I am calling Long-Song for the moment. More on that later.

Meanwhile the GSBB's were fantastic, and the last one, on Saturday evening before the Burn, was full power, with particpants being in full voice, vigorous and fun and loud. We are all standing or dancing on a dusty street corner in Black Rock City, bikes and art cars slowly weaving by, and the 50 of us are hollering and singing and chanting; creating a musical space in the midst of the dust and noise. It was spine tinglingly wonderful.
